On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me….
Huge thanks to the folks from Buck and Houndwho got this beautiful package to me on behalf of Powers Whiskey . It landed just as I was finishing up work for the holidays, and if you’ll pardon the inevitable, awful pun, it has thoroughly encouraged me to get into the spirit of the Christmas.
It’s an engraved bottle of the classic gold label Powers, a pair of perfectly weighted crystal glasses, and two branded coasters from the folks in Slated.ie in Dalkey. If you’re looking for a gift for the whiskey aficionado (or novice!) in your life, these can be picked up in the LMulligan whiskey’s pop up shop in George’s arcade, and engraved there as you wait.
The box landed without any demand for promotion, but I’m happy to do so anyway.
I presume I was sent this as I posted about some great Powers bottlings during the year. These were the outstanding ‘99 single pot still that I was lucky enough to taste at Whiskey Live (thanks Michaelthepowersguy ), and then on my honeymoon in Sorrento where I was like Indiana Jones when I discovered a dusty, two-thirds full bottle of the LVA 1817 release in Chaplin’s Irish bar. I dutifully proceeded to empty it over the course of the week.
The reinvigoration of the this proud brand goes from strength to strength, so here’s wishing you all a Power(s)ful Christmas!
